According to Anima's own material, you name your companion, pick her personality traits, decide how she talks and shape her avatar. If you want a friend with a particular vibe, that's the core of the product, and it's a sensible core. It's just a friend-shaped one.
GoLove's Chat Settings
GoLove does its tuning inside each chat. You get a voice picker, a 5-level lust slider and a 5-level response-length slider.
